The Benefits of Wasp Spray

Joseph Parish

In my last article I centered on physical security of our new home and now I would like to add to that security factor. Although I am an active gun carrier, often times it may become impossible to utilize any sort of weapon during an emergency situation even if you have one nearby. In such cases, alternate plans may be necessary. I personally suggest the use of wasp spray in dealing with those who are intent upon harming you.

You may have heard the internet tale concerning the person's friend who was a receptionist in their church. Since the church was located in a high-risk area there was considerable concern over a stranger entering the office intent upon robbing them. According to the urban legend the woman involved approached her local police department and inquired about the use of pepper spray and was informed that she should get herself a can of wasp spray in its place.

The advantage of such a spray is that it is able to shot as much as twenty feet from where one may be standing as well as being more accurate when compared with the pepper spray. Pepper spray requires you to get dangerously close to your potential assailant. Being that close would enable him to overpower you. The spray used on wasps will temporarily blind your attacker until they arrive at the hospital for treatment.

In the case of the lady mentioned above she would be wise to maintains a can of this spray at her desk in the office and no one will be the wiser, they would merely think it is for combating the local wasp population. In an effort to improve our security measures here at our home we keep a can of the spray located near each of our doors.

There are increases in home break-ins and assaults on the occupants as our economic time gets worse. People are out to take what they can regardless of who they hurt. There was a case of a home break in up north where the assailants beat and left an elderly woman dead. Could self-defense have helped this elderly woman? It is highly unlikely due to her age however it has been suggested by self-defense experts that one should keep a can of hornet spray near your bed or door. This is much better than anything a martial arts instructor could teach them.

That can of spray is inexpensive, easy to locate and generally more effective than pepper spray or mace. As mentioned above the can of wasp spray will typically shoot 20 feet away from you so in the case of a home break in spray the culprit in their eyes than get as far away from them as you can. If you are looking for a means of personal protection like we were than highly consider the can of wasp spray.

In conclusion, this inexpensive can will give you a chance to either call the police or to escape the dangerous situation you are in. In fact, it just might save your life. Each door in my home has a can of wasp spray near it just in case. I leave you with this remark that I recently chanced upon and had not known previously but wasp spray will kill a snake or a mouse! Since this is good for eliminating snakes, I have installing a spray can on the Garden Tractor for when I am out in the field.
